Christ Church Men's Breakfasts

Launched in April 2009 these bi-monthly breakfast events, held at The Pumphouse, Hotwells, give a chance for men to come together to share good food and get to grips with faith issues that impact men. See below for full details of the men's breakfasts programme for the coming year.

The next men's breakfast will be on Saturday 28th January 2012, 8.00-9.30am, when our speaker will be Ben Watson who will be speaking on the topic of "The masculine heart: an addiction psychiatrist's perspective".

Dr Ben Watson is an addiction psychiatrist who also carries out brain imaging research at Bristol University. He is interested in how addictive behaviours are mirrored more generally in the 'habits of a man's heart'. He is married to Jo and has a one-year old son - Tiger. Ben worships at Hope Chapel in Bristol.

To secure your place at a men's breakfast you can sign-up on the sheet at the back of chruch or click here. The deadline for booking is  Wednesday 25th January. During the week before the event, please ring the church office (0117 973 6524) to sign up as there may no longer be places available.

Cost is £10 (£5 if you are a student or if you are in financial hardship). Signing up is a commitment to pay.

MEN, FAITH, GOD......WHO'D HAVE THOUGHT IT?

Christ Church Men's Ministries exist to challenge, motivate and enable men to step up to the claims and call of Jesus Christ.

Why men? Because there are issues in the world of work, relationships, sex, leadership and faith that impact especially on men. Issues that need to be tackled as men see them - through their eyes and from their perspective.

SO WE AIM TO:

Motivate men in the greatest adventure of their lives: their sign up to follow Jesus, the Lord of the Universe. To help them get to grips with his call in the tough areas of integrity, self-discipline, responsibility and character.

Encourage men to get to grips with the Bible and to work it out into the real world of their relationships, their work and family commitments, their call to service and leadership in church and at home.

Promote accountable relationships and prayer partnerships between men in Christ Church, to encourage one another and support the growth of each other's faith.

Develop men's gifts in serving God through targeted teaching, pastoral mentoring and one-to-one coaching.

Grow men's leadership skills by hands-on experience and oversight. Above all by teaching and showing that men who lead others, first lead themselves and those close to them.
