Belonging
One of the main ways God 'make disciples' is through the fellowship and teaching that happens as we gather together on Sundays. But how can we help people switch from attending Christ Church to belonging to God's family at Christ Church? How can we make sure that we're not stagnating Christians, but Christians growing in faith, service and love? How can we so build our confidence in the grace and truth of Christ that staying in our holy huddles won't be an option, but going with the Gospel to Bristol and beyond will happen naturally?
These are big questions, and those who come to different services will answer them quite differently, because the challenges and opportunities of being disciples vary depending on our stage of life. Whilst acknowledging the diversity within each of our congregations, it makes sense to address these questions with the brothers and sisters we see each week when we gather together. In 2007 we will be developing 'service teams' for each of the main services to address these questions, and work out how our times together on Sundays (and what happens during the week) can best enable each of us to belong, grow and go.
