Environment care resources

Doing the right thing environmentally isn't always straightforward.  We get so many messages - do this, don't do that - and sometimes seeming to contradict each other.

While we don't have a definitive answer for everything, here are some trustworthy sources of information.

Directgov  This is a 'one stop shop' giving help on all sorts of public services. Helpfully, there's a page entirely dedicated to 'Environment and Greener Living'. It's a great resource, covering waste and recycling, greener shopping, travel and cars, energy, water saving, gardening and information on climate change among other things

RecycleNow This is the home of the official UK recycling campaign - you might recognise the green heart logo. This site gives advice on what we can each do and explains some of those symbols appearing on products.

Act on CO2 This is a whizzy carbon calculator produced by the government. It's easy to use, good to look at as a site and gives some helpful tips on how to reduce your carbon footprint

Tear Fund - Carbon Fast For Lent  Tear Fund launched their 'carbon fast'. This is simply a list of easy things we can do at home and in the places where we live and work as well as points for prayer and reflection
