Jane Simpkins
Jane grew up in Bristol and was privileged to be brought up in a Christian home. She came to faith at an early age mainly due to the example of her Gran! She has been involved in Christian Children's work since an early age - her first experience was helping out leading a Sunday School group when she was 12! Jane studied Geography at Bristol University, followed by a PGCE. Much of her spare time during her late teens/early twenties, was spent playing in a Christian Rock Band! Jane taught Geography, Sociology and IT for 5 years at Katharine Lady Berkeley's School, Wotton-Under-Edge, Gloucestershire. She enjoyed getting involved with the school's outdoor pursuits programme, and qualified as a Mountain Leader. Jane also had the joy of leading a Christianity Explored Course for the Sixth form students for 2 years. Jane's love of the outdoors has led her to be involved with Christian Adventure Holidays who put on camps for children aged 12-17 in the Lake District. Jane has been co-leading one of the weeks of camp for the last 2 years. From 2004-2006 Jane took up the opportunity to study the Bible at Cornhill in London. Her placement Church was St.Lukes, West Hampstead, where she was involved in various areas of ministry including the Children's work and youth work. She also worked part time as a supply teacher during this period.
Jane started work as a Children's Worker at Christ Church in July 2006. She is involved in overseeing and supporting the work that goes on with 0-11 year olds. This includes Toddlers, Pre-school, School's work, Holiday Clubs, mid-week clubs, Junior Church, and Children's Choir.
