About Jill Garfitt
At the heart of Jill's work is her ability to transform people and organisation through enabling and empowering people. She has applied this to many different working scenarios; in leading the design and development of a leadership strategy and development opportunities in a global corporate company; directing the implementation of a Skills' strategy to enable employees to gain confidence through literacy and numeracy qualifications; being a headteacher of underachieving primary schools in Somerset; coaching individuals to greater self understanding and higher performance and to running her own retail business. She balances this with raising a family of three grown boys, an enthusiasm for sport and embroidery and her involvement with women's ministry and 'working4God' in Christ Church.
Jill on Esther
Sometimes we see Esther as a 'romantic rags to riches' story where she not only wins the hand of the king but she also succeeds in saving her people. We might question the relevancy to our lives today but within this book of Esther are profound examples of the way God prepares and positions Esther for His purpose - to use her experiences and special abilities at a time when He calls her. We can all learn and apply Esther into our lives and the talk will look at raising awareness for this for each of us, wherever God has positioned us, and how it personally has challenged me.
