Junior Church
Junior church is for 0-11 year olds - every week in term time, during our 9.30am Sunday service
(except during children's services!). We have a fantastic team of volunteers, overseen by
Belong - we want all our children to feel like they belong - to feel welcome, safe and cared for
Grow - we want to help our children to grow in their faith and discover God for themselves
Go - we want our children to feel confident, supported and equipped to live out their faith
Creche (babies and toddlers under 2 years of age) - overseen by Rosemary Harvey
The under 2s play with toys, books and bubbles! They are made to feel safe and happy by a
wonderful team of leaders.
Mini-Scramblers (2 years)
By listening to simple Bible stories, playing together and making things, the children learn that
God loves them. Carol, Caroline and Jen head up the team.
Scramblers (3-4 years)
The children sing together and listen to stories about Jesus. They also work in small groups doing craft activities and playing games. Sally, Helena, and Lizzie head up the team.
Climbers (5-year 2)
The children learn about stories from throughout the Bible, and focus on the reality of a personal relationship with God. The sessions involve lots of fun - games, craft, singing. The team is led by Jane Simpkins.
Explorers (year 3 & 4)
Each week there is Bible teaching with a mixture of crafts, drama and other activities in groups to compliment the teaching. The children are given many opportunities to work out what they think about God and to discover God for themselves. There is an Explorers night away in the summer. The team of leaders is led by Robbie Nutt.
Trailblazers (year 5 & 6)
The Christian faith is taught about in a fun and interactive way. Each week there are a variety of activities, including exciting discussions/Bible studies - designed to help the children question, understand and apply what they have learned. Every year there is a Trailblazers' wilderness weekend away - which is a fab time for deepening friendships, having fun, discovering more about a personal relationship with God, and allowing the children to question and dig deeper for themselves into what the Christian faith is all about. There are also organised socials every term. The team of leaders is co-ordinated by Jon and Jess Hogg.
