Junior Church
Junior church is for 0-11 year olds - every week in term time, during our 9.30am Sunday service
(except during all age services!). We have a fantastic team of volunteers, overseen by
Belong - we want all our children to feel like they belong and are loved and cared for
Grow - we want our children to grow in their faith so that they become strong followers of Jesus
Go - we want our children to feel confident, supported and equipped to tell others about Jesus
Creche (babies and toddlers under 2 years of age)
The creche is in the crypt at one end of the Brentnall Room (approached via the stairs by the
organ). There is a regular rota of helpers. Rosemary Harvey oversees the creche team.
Mini-Scramblers (2 years)
They meet in one end of the Brentnall Room, reached via the main stairs. By listening to simple Bible
stories, playing together and making things, the children learn that Jesus loves them. Antje Walker
is in charge of the team of leaders.
Scramblers (3-4 years)
They meet in the Hallam Room (via the organ stairs). The children sing together and listen to stories about Jesus. They also work in small groups doing craft activities and playing games. Sally Nixon co-ordinates the team of helpers.
Climbers (5-7 years)
They meet one end of the Crypt - best approached from the stairs by the organ. The children learn Bible stories and the reality of a personal relationship with God, whilst enjoying various games, crafts and participating in drama. The team is led by Margaret Halestrap.
Explorers (7-9 years)
They meet in the main body of the Crypt (approached via the main stairs). Each week there is Bible teaching with a mixture of crafts, drama and other activities in groups to compliment the teaching. The team of leaders is led by Izzie and Jamie.
Trailblazers (9-11 years)
They meet in the Andrew Room (approached via the organ stairs). They aim to teach the Bible to children in a very interactive and engaging way. Each week there are a variety of activities, including exciting discussions/Bible studies - designed to help the children understand and apply what they have learned. The team of leaders is co-ordinated by Jon and Jess Hogg.
