Nelly Davis
Nelly was born in Holland, spending her childhood among lovely tulips and windmills! She became a Christian through the witness of two christian friends at a teacher training college. She taught as a primary school teacher for several years before coming to England. She studied at a Missionary Training College, worked at St Mary's Ealing in London for 4 years, followed by studying at Trinity Theological College in Bristol for 2 years. She joined the staff at Christ Church as the Parish Worker from 1981 to 1983. While on the staff she started among many other things the Community Centre, learnt to drive and got married.
She left to have a family, but remained actively involved in Christ Church. From 1995 to 2000 she was the Project Manager for Space Trust, Bristol, a charity for homeless families. She joined the staff anew on 8 January 2007 and looks forward to strengthening and developing the work among the senior members of the church. She will be leading the Monday Fellowship/Home group, the Wednesday Community Centre, building up the visiting team, involved in home visiting and will be attending the 11am Service.
She is married to Chris,a longstanding Christ Church member, and has a daughter,
Ruth, and a son, David.
